A local ADHD clinic for West Wales
Most private ADHD services in Wales are run from Cardiff or from outside Wales altogether. ADH-Me is a West Wales service. We live and work here, understand how local GP practices tend to approach shared care, and can arrange to see you face to face, including at your child's school, subject to availability, if you would prefer not to do everything on a screen.
You see the same clinician from your first conversation through to your medication reviews. That continuity matters with ADHD, as you do not need to explain yourself again to someone new at every step.
For the current NHS position locally, see NHS ADHD waiting times for Hywel Dda on our Wales waiting times explorer.
Your NHS route in Carmarthen
On the NHS, adults and children in Carmarthen are referred by their GP to services run by Hywel Dda University Health Board. Because you live in Wales, NHS Right to Choose does not apply, so the main alternative to the NHS waiting list is a private assessment. Why Wales is different.
Getting to your appointment
We work in person across South and West Wales, subject to availability, including visiting schools, so you may not need to travel at all. Assessments and reviews also work well online by video, which suits people further out in Pembrokeshire or Ceredigion.
Areas we often see people from nearby: Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff.
What happens after the assessment
You get a detailed report following NICE guideline NG87 and a feedback session. If ADHD is diagnosed and medication is right for you, our ADHD specialist prescribers can prescribe it and adjust the dose with you through titration, then write to your GP to request shared care. Practices in Wales decide shared care themselves, so we explain the position clearly from the start.
